Mega is my first Giant Schnauzer. I
bought her from Skansen's in April 2002. She came to us by
airplane - we picked her up in Dallas and it was love at first
sight. Never having had a big indoor dog before, we left her
unattended one morning and she ate some of my medicine and was in
intensive care for over a week. We couldn't image life without
her, and we had only had her for about a month. |
|
When Mega started her career as a
show girl, I groomed her and Holly Smith, a 15yr old neighbor,
began handling her. We had a lot of help from everyone, including
professional handler Paige McCarver. She gave Holly lots of tips,
and Mega got her first 3 point major.
We finished her in March 2004, and
I took her home and bred her to Ch Pangia
Banditto V Kamir, owned by Matt and Michelle Smith of Houston.
She had 8 beautiful puppies on July 20, 2004. After the
puppies were 8 weeks old I sought out Paige again and asked her to
look at the puppies and to handle my dogs for me. |

Just before Mega had her pups, I
bought another bitch, Skansen's Inbe Youngblood. She was born on
March 22, 2004, and we picked her up at Skansen's the second week
of July.
She has a completely different
person-ality from Mega - not so loving, but she is a good girl.
Paige started showing her when she was 6 months old, and finished
her in October, 2005. We are planning to breed her this fall to
our Ch Black Gold's Maximus. |
|
Paige McCarver started showing
Black Gold's Maximus and Black Gold's Princess Leia soon after
they were 6 months old. Paige had a triple in Lubbock where she
finished all 3 of these dogs - Inbe, Max and Leia.
Mega's presence is felt in the
rings now as she has really come into herself. She is consistently
winning the breed and placing in the group! |
